We keep this simple because our approach is simple: we collect as little as possible.

The short version

  • No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for to read the website or the archive.
  • No first-party tracking. We don't run Google Analytics or tracking pixels. Our host (Cloudflare) provides basic, privacy-respecting traffic counts that don't identify you.
  • The newsletter is the only thing we ask for. If you subscribe, we store your email address with our email provider so we can send you the weekly note. Nothing more.

Newsletter

When you subscribe, your email address is stored and managed by our email platform (MailerLite) solely to send you Kids Fun Week and, occasionally, a clearly labeled sponsored mention. We use double opt-in: you get a confirmation email first, and you're only added to the list when you click it — an unconfirmed address is never mailed and is purged on a schedule. We never sell or share your address. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately and deletes your record. Signups are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (a privacy-respecting bot check, no tracking cookies).

Advertising

Kids Fun Week is reader-supported and will, in time, be funded in part by display advertising. No ad code runs on this site today, so no advertising cookies are set. When ads do launch, our ad partner (Google AdSense, initially) may use cookies to show ads and measure their performance — those cookies would be set by the ad network, not by us, and you'll be able to manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings and aboutads.info. When that day comes we'll cap ads at a few units per page and keep them out of the way of the writing.

Affiliate disclosure

Some of our links are affiliate links — most often to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend or what we say about it. We only link to supplies we'd genuinely use with our own kids, and we mention them in real context, never as a wall of links.

Safety & supervision

The activities we share are ideas for play, not instructions guaranteed to be safe for every child. You are the best judge of what's right for your child at their age and stage. Please supervise young children at all times — especially around water, small parts, scissors, balloons, and food — and choose age-appropriate activities. Nothing on this site is medical, developmental, or professional safety advice.

Children

This website and newsletter are written for parents and caregivers, not for children, and the newsletter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, email us and we'll remove the address right away.
