Kids Fun Week is a small, independent newsletter for the grown-ups in charge of small children.
Every Sunday morning we send one short email with 5 simple screen-free activities for kids ages 2 to 8 — crafts, science, sensory play, outdoor missions, and games. Everything uses things you already have around the house, takes a couple of minutes to set up, and is written for real life, not a styled photo on the internet.
Why we made it
The hardest moments of a week with little kids aren't the planned ones — they're the unstructured ones. The rainy afternoon. The hour before dinner. The "I'm boooored" on a Saturday. Pinterest is full of gorgeous, complicated projects that need a supply run and an hour of prep, and that's exactly what you don't have in the moment.
So we built the opposite: a steady, no-fuss stream of ideas simple enough to start right now. Pull one from your inbox, hand it to your kid, and buy yourself a calmer hour. That's the whole promise.
How each Sunday is built
A typical edition has three activities explained step-by-step, two quick bonus ideas, a couple of one-liners to keep in your back pocket, and one honest, no-guilt tip for the grown-up running the show. We always tell you the cleanup and the safety notes up front — because a water-play day shouldn't be a surprise, and "screen-free" should never mean "unsupervised."
We don't do perfection. We do doable.
What we're honest about
These are ideas for play and learning, not childcare. You know your child — their age, their stage, what they still put in their mouths — and you're the one who decides what's safe for them today. Always supervise young children, especially with water, small parts, scissors, and food. Nothing here is medical, developmental, or safety advice.
We also don't collect your data. There are no accounts here and no analytics following you around the web. If you subscribe, your email lives with our email provider and nowhere else, and you can leave in one click. (More in our privacy & disclosure page.)
How this is funded
Kids Fun Week is free and reader-supported — through the occasional clearly-labeled sponsor in the newsletter, and affiliate links to supplies we genuinely use (if you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you). We only ever point to things we'd hand our own kids.
That's it. If an easier week sounds good, the best thing you can do is subscribe free — one cheerful email a week, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
